JOSÉ LUIS “PEPE” MOTTA

José Luis Motta o “Pepe”, como lo llaman todos los que lo conocen bien, nació en Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Argentina y nunca pensó en otra cosa más que en ser músico y más específicamente, pianista. En estos días, sigue igual, enfocado en su mundo musical, reuniendo premios y críticas entusiastas, y continúa expandiendo su reputación como uno de los más finos pianistas, arregladores/conductores/ productores musicales en el mundo.

Comenzó su carrera profesional tocando tangos a la edad de 14 años, en Argentina.

Hoy su experiencia musical y sus antecedentes han hecho que, a menudo, sea requerido como asesor por radios, televisión, películas y teatro, a nivel internacional.

Ha sido miembro de la Sociedad Argentina de Autores y Compositores, (S.A.D.A.I.C.), desde 1959; pianista acompañante en las clases de Técnica del Movimiento, en la Escuela de Teatro, dependiente del Ministerio de Educación y ha dado charlas sobre música en los Centros de Educación para Adultos, en Argentina.

Como compositor, arreglador y ejecutante, su música lleva su sello y es reconocida internacionalmente desde Argentina, hasta Estados Unidos y más allá, hasta lugares como España, Australia y Singapur.

Ganó, entre otros, dos premios Emmy, por la música del "Desfile de las Rosas", evento especial en vivo, para la cadena de televisión Univisión, en Estados Unidos, en los años 2000 y 2001. Como compositor, arreglador y productor recibió diferentes reconocimientos y premios, como discos de platino y de oro; por dos años consecutivos, estuvo en la lista de los "Productores latinos más famosos" de la revista Billboard; la cadena de televisión Univision lo nombró "Mejor Productor del Año"; recibió el premio de BMI "Canción más popular".

Si agregamos a esto sus muchos éxitos como productor musical comprenderemos porqué somos tan afortunados de tener a Pepe con nosotros en Argentina.

PABLO MOTTA

Argentine-Born Jazz and Tango Bassist

Born in Pergamino and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pablo moved with his family to Los Angeles when he was 12 years old. He chose the doublebass at age 13 and began working professionally alongside his father, José Luis "Pepe" Motta, when he was 15. This experience taught him about many styles including tango, Argentine folklore, various latin rhythms and improvisation in general. He attended Hamilton HS Academy of Music and California State University, Northridge were he played in all the top ensembles and received several awards at competitions and festivals. His main teachers were David Young, Oscar Meza (from the Los Angeles Philarmonic), Don Kasper and most importantly Gary Pratt.

In November of 2000, he moved to Kansas City to perform in, arrange and compose for Tango Lorca, an Argentine tango ensemble made up of young musicians. In KC is where "The Pablo Motta Trio" was born, featuring Pablo's original compositions and arrangements of jazz standards. In 2002, he moved back to Los Angeles where he would pursue his career with his trio and tour with major tango shows.

As a tango bassist, he has recorded music for and appeared in several movies including "Wings of Courage" (IMAX), "My Father the Hero," and "Marlene Dietrich" (Miramax). He appears in many CD's with artists from the US, Argentina and Japan. In 1998 he toured with "Tango Vivo!" through Canada (Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Kitchener and Toronto) and in 2001 he joined the cast of "Tango Dreams" and with them performed in Los Angeles, New Mexico, and Japan (three different tours). In 2004 he was invited to join the Broadway hit "Forever Tango" with Musical Director Victor Lavallen and since then has been touring with them through New York (on Broadway), Tokyo, San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles (Kodak and Wilshire Theaters), Mexico, Seoul, Seattle, Reno, and Puerto Rico. While off the road and at home in Los Angeles, he performs with "Trio Tangábile" (with Coco Trivisonno and Marcelo Caceres) and he directs The Los Angeles Tango Ensemble. The Los Angeles Tango Ensemble has performed at venues such as the New Madison Theater (Second Space) in Santa Monica, at the "Dance Downtown" concert series for pver 500 people held on the courtyard of the Music Center, Spazio, Vibrato and countless private engagements.

As a classical musician, he has performed with Mládí Chamber Orchestra, Santa Barbara Symphony, New Ear Ensemble (Kansas City based group dedicated to new music) and,while in college, with American Youth Symphony (AYS).

DANIEL INDART (A.K.A. RODOLFO GREEN)

Rodolfo Green is Daniel Indart alias as a Tango performer.
Award-winning producer, composer and songwriter Daniel Indart is widely respected in the entertainment industry as one of the most prolific and knowledgeable artist/executives in the world of Latin music. His music credits run the gamut of such high-profile film and television credits as the theme for the NBC series “Kingpin” and music for HBO’s “The Sopranos” – to commercial work including campaigns for Miller Lite beer and Hyundai automobiles among many others. As an artist/songwriter, Indart has performed with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Ricky Martin, Placido Domingo and Quincy Jones. Indart’s Los Angeles-based companies Latin Music Specialists (LMS) and LMS Records are among the premier sources for recorded Latin Music in the world today.

Born in South America, Indart’s mother was Prima Ballerina and choreographer at the prestigious Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Argentina and throughout her career became a world-renowned instructor and choreographer. Through her, Daniel was introduced to the music of the Classical composers as well as the Latin American vast musical Folklore, including Tango and Flamenco, and to musicians and dance professionals from all over the world.

Daniel’s academic excellence and musical talent led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a B.A. in film scoring. After graduation, RCA International signed Daniel to its stable of performers and two songs from his first album became number one hits on the South American charts.

As a songwriter, Daniel has written thousands of songs and commercial music pieces. As a performer, he has recorded three record albums, the lead voice in musical spots for numerous advertising campaigns as well as on record projects for Ricky Martin, Plácido Domingo, Ana Gabriel, Gloria Trevi, Pimpinela, Yuri, Lupita D’Alessio, Xuxa and “We Are The World” and worked with Quincy Jones, Humberto Gatica, and Grammy winner producers K.C. Porter, Antonio “Moogie” Canazio and Kenny O’Brien among many others.

In 1986, Indart founded Indart Music & Sound (IMS) has created and produced music and sound design for more than 1000 commercials, IMS has won a host of industry awards including Clios, Beldings and Se Habla Espanol awards.

In addition, Indart also founded Latin Music Specialists (LMS) which is the licensing arm of LMS Records which specializes in providing Latin music for film, television, multimedia, e-commerce, gaming, B2B and traditional record company licensing applications. Creating Latin Music Specialists (LMS), Indart has become the entertainment industry’s foremost expert in all genres of Latin Music.

In 2001, he launched LMS Records, independently owned Los Angeles-based record company specializing in the best in multi-genre, traditional and contemporary Latin Music.
