"You Might Want To Pump Up The Volume And Turn The Disco Light On Before Doing The Salsa In Your Computer Chairs"
Lee Cieniawa.

Review from Kevin "Exodus" Weinberg of PC Paradox

"If you don't start dancing while playing Tropico, one must seriously have no beat. PopTop Software has aligned a beautifully assembled score of "Caribbean Folk" (you could call it thousands of things) music. It matches the aura Tropico emits and really brings the island to life without any repetition. There are even lyrics in these songs, which actually caused me to bust out some of my great singing during my dictator regime. (No dancing occurred during this game's duration) Poptop Software has deftly captured the emotions surrounding Tropico and installed it into a great soundtrack."

Review from Game Addicts

"The music deserves a separate paragraph. I am no fan of Latin music, I'll admit that - but the music in Tropico has made me reconsider that. As soon as I heard the opening tune, I said to myself, "Hey, that's not bad at all!". As I progressed through the game, I found myself nodding along with the rhythm, without even noticing it! Kudos to Daniel Indart, the person responsible for the game's soundtrack, for such an amazing job."

Review from Mac Guild

"The first thing that really stands out in this game, and the element of the game which, for me, sets it apart from all the rest, is the outstanding soundtrack. There is a variety of music tracks which play in the background while you are building your society, and each piece is a lively Carribean-style jam that heightens the atmosphere of the game (and the atmosphere of the room the game is being played in for that matter). During one test, I had an 8-year old child sit down and give the game a try, and the upbeat music was so catchy that all of the adults within ear-shot of the music began dancing around the room while the kid played the game. It's the kind of music that makes all your troubles seem to disappear, and makes you dream about laying in a hammock on some island paradise retreat."

Review from Lee Cieniawa of Armchair Empire

"The music has that Latino flavor that fits the game. Provided mostly by the Latin Music Specialists and Daniel Indart, you might want to pump up the volume and turn the disco light on before doing the salsa in your computer chair."

Review from Dan Adams of IGN.com

"The music in the game was excellent. That Carribean beat just flew out and made me smile."

Video Game Music: Ten Of The BEST Soundtracks
Review from Spike The Lobster of Hub Pages

Tropico
"The original Tropico game had a wonderful Cuban-style soundtrack. Performed by Daniel Indart, a collection of a dozen songs played behind the scenes as gamers built their tropical paradise. Very mellow and memorable, one could even find oneself humming along without realizing it."
