Danzonera Distortion Club was born in 2002 under the name Danzonera 55. Formed by Ivan Monsivais (Amaranta, Inspector, El Gran Silencio) and Cesar Hernandez (Amaranta, El Gran Silencio) creating a mix of musical genres such as Heavy Metal with Tropical Cumbia, Salsa, Ska, Reggae and Steady Rock.

With the help of other musicians, they recorded a home demo and went out on various presentations, although difficulted by the fact that Hernandez still belonged to the group El Gran Silencio. In 2003 Cesar abandoned that group to dedicate full time to the project, together with Ivan Monsivais and other musicians.

They recorded several songs, adhering to the original formula. They came up with the new name and rebirthed themselves as Danzonera Distortion Club, a homage to orquestras that still play Danzon despite the passage of time and musical trends.

The group recorded their first four songs under the production of Poncho Herrera (Barrio Bravo, Mundo Colombia, de Celso Pi..a). Then "La Monja" joined them in timbales. The band started playing in the most recognized clubs of Monterrey, Mexico, such as Cafe Iguaya, Clandestino, as well as festivals and other venues, with great receptive success among the fans in Monterrey. In Durango their concerts have a good number of followers thanks to songs like Rastakran, a Colonial Reggae that mentions the city, as well as the tracks Cumbia Peligrosa, a power metal/cumbia, and Canta Canta, a tropical cumbia in the style of Rigo Tovar.

At the end of 2004 they signed with the label Kbaret and start writing for their first album in early 2005. In 2005 "El Jalado" also integrated the band on keyboards and Tomas Alvarado on guitar. With this formation they have played aside with Todos Tus Muertos, Fidel Nadal and Panteon Rococo. They have also participated in the Festival Barrio Antiguo, opening for Sonora Santanera. From 2006-2017 their music is recognized, crossing the border to Radio Oganica in San Diego, participating in local and foreign events.
